The Story

Project photography courtesy of United Airlines

Spanning over 33,000 square feet and offering more than 600 seats, the newly renovated B West United Club® at Denver International Airport is the largest United Airlines club location to date. Designed as a modern, two-level lounge experience, the space incorporates local furnishing, artworks, and other design elements that reflect the seasonal transitions and natural beauty of Colorado.

To reflect these ideas, we curated a dynamic, locally sourced art collection centered on the theme of springtime in Colorado. Evoking renewal, growth, and connection to place, the artwork invites travelers to pause, reflect, and recharge.

Guests are welcomed by BroCoLoco’s tactile rope sculpture, which mimics the gentle cascade of a climber’s rope and beckons people up the stairs to the main landing. As they ascend, ByeongDoo Moon’s suspended stainless steel sculpture comes into view, with two curious fish circling one another in an ethereal nod to the region’s beloved fly-fishing adventures.

Nearby, an immersive mural by Markus Puskar sweeps across three walls and the ceiling, offering a quiet moment of respite. The work explores how Colorado’s natural forms are shaped by movement—particularly the wind and weather that define the state’s dramatic environment. Hidden imagery throughout, from a lone wolf to a cow skull, invites closer inspection and repeat visits.

On the next level, a vibrant mural by Will Barker captures the grandeur of Colorado’s landscape with snowcapped peaks, red rock canyons, and dense alpine forests. Just beyond, a hand-embellished triptych by Latasha Greene pays homage to famous state landmarks. Together with her wildflower installation, the work celebrates not only the visual beauty of wildflower season, but the spirit of adventure behind the mountain hikes and scenic drives people take to witness these fleeting blooms.

Around the corner, Jonathan Saiz invites quiet contemplation with an installation of 333 miniature glyphs and sigils representing Colorado’s seasons, while John Boak’s fine art prints reflect familiar alpine trails with lush gradients of color.

A centerpiece of the level is Christi Palitto’s deeply textural painting, in which a ribbon painted in the classic United Blue weaves together native wildflowers across a wood grain panel, symbolizing coexistence between the organic and the human-made. This artwork is dedicated in loving memory of Christi, a beloved Denver artist whose work and spirit continue to inspire.

Together, the B West art collection forms a cohesive story of vitality, nature, and wonder, capturing the essence of a Colorado spring and embedding it in one of United Airlines’ premier club experiences.
