The Story

Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis flagship office features a dynamic and inclusive art collection that honors the cultural, architectural, and creative spirit of St. Louis. Designed to blur the line between work and home, the collection embraces diversity across media, artist backgrounds, and perspectives to create an uplifting experience that unfolds across every floor.
With half of the collection sourced from local St. Louis artists, the program fosters a strong connection to place while elevating emerging and underrepresented voices. The works range from biophilic abstraction and sculptural forms to bold, narrative-driven pieces that reflect the city’s layered history and evolving identity. A wide mix of materials including fiber, wood, metal, ceramics, mirror, photography, and found objects introduces texture, movement, and moments of surprise throughout the office.
A defining feature of the collection is “Landlines,” a large-scale, fiber-based installation by St. Louis–based artist Douglas Dale, prominently installed across two perpendicular walls in the main lobby. Composed of three primary panels, the work maps local geographic horizons through stitched fiber and found materials, inviting reflection on landscape, materiality, and identity.
Additional commissioned works further anchor the collection to St. Louis, including sculptural pieces made from city maps, book-based artworks referencing law and literature, photography capturing local architecture and neighborhoods, and playful installations that introduce moments of levity and motion. Together, the art collection positions Husch Blackwell’s St. Louis office as a welcoming, forward-thinking workplace that reflects the firm’s commitment to creativity, community, and thought leadership.
