Alta Mile High boasts a bold, eclectic art collection that mirrors the personality of the Sun Valley neighborhood and the residents who call it home. Designed as a visual journey through the building, the collection reflects Denver’s underground creative pulse and celebrates emerging talent, unexpected materials, and the moment when new voices step into the spotlight.
The collection features seven custom commissions, anchoring key amenity spaces with immersive, high-impact works. A standout installation, Abandoned Memories II by Pam Fortner, is composed of more than 2,500 salvaged photographic slides of trains, meticulously hand-sewn into a cascading sculptural form. The piece reflects themes of movement, memory, and legacy, transforming discarded materials into a powerful, poetic focal point.
In partnership with Arts Street, over 40 original artworks by youth artists were created specifically for a vibrant gallery wall, reinforcing Alta Mile High’s commitment to equity, creative opportunity, and community engagement. Additional works throughout the building incorporate recycled banners, industrial materials, mixed media sculpture, and playful abstractions, with each contributing to an environment that feels effortlessly cool, dynamic, and deeply rooted in Denver’s creative landscape.
