“The fan experience starts from the moment that you decide you want to go to an event.”
That’s how Liv Campion, Senior Associate at CAA ICON, describes the philosophy behind some of the most ambitious sports and entertainment venues in the country. In this episode Liv unpacks what goes into building a venue like Intuit Dome, home of the LA Clippers, and why she sees the fan experience as the intersection of venue, hospitality, technology, branding, and art rather than simply a building where a game happens. Drawing on a background in psychology and organizational studies, Liv explains how her team designs both the fan experience and the building simultaneously, using art and architecture to give a venue a true sense of place instead of letting it become just another interchangeable structure. As entertainment venues become increasingly embedded into urban environments, Liv makes a compelling case for why art, hospitality, and ongoing community programming matter just as much as the game or concert itself.
